The meeting was called to order at 5:25 p.m. in the Washtenaw County Annex building.
The Secretary distributed a draft of the minutes of November 22, 1994.
The Treasurer distributed an Income Statement for the eleven months ending November 30, 1994 and a Balance Sheet as of November 30, 1994.
Mr. Barr reported that: 1) the 501(c)(3) application was delivered before Thanksgiving; 2) he had not heard anything about the Corporation reports he filed, which led him to believe they were ok, and, 3) he was working on the application to register the Corporation as a charitable organization with the Attorney General's office.
Ms. Howard said it was most important to get a prototype of the community network up and running to show people what the system was about and then to plan a publicity/fundraising event. She reported that Joet Reoma, of Concordia College, might be able to provide an Intel CPU, but would need a 1-page description of the purpose of the project and the hardware/software configuration required. Mr. Glazier volunteered to draft the project/configuration report. Mr. Glazier also volunteered to register the domain name "hvcn.org" with the INTERNIC.
The Board discussed the possibility of holding a kickoff fundraiser on Sunday, February 5, 1995 from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. Suggested possible locations included the freight station in Ypsilanti's Depot Town and EMU's Corporate Education Center. Ms. Howard said she would help organize the event and volunteered to: 1) design an online HVCN registration system that would be operational at the kickoff, and, 2) design an HVCN brochure/membership form. Additional assistance in planning the event would be requested at the Community Network Coordinating meeting to be held on Friday, December 9, 1994 at 5 p.m. in the Ann Arbor Public Library. The next HVCN Board meeting would follow the Coordinating meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
