The meeting was held at the Ann Arbor Public Library and was called to order at 6:30 p.m.
Mr. Ogden noted that the Board set February 5, 1995 as the date of the kickoff fund-raiser for the Huron Valley Community Network. He observed that at the November 30, 1994 Board meeting Mr. Glazier had volunteered to: 1) prepare a 1-page description of our CPU needs so that Joet Reoma at Concordia College could determine whether that College could provide a machine on which a demonstration prototype of the Network could be set up; and, 2) register the domain name "hvcn.org" with the INTERNIC. Mr. Ogden also observed that at the November 30 Board meeting Ms. Howard volunteered to: 1) design an on-line registration system that would be operational at the kickoff; and, 2) design an HVCN registration/membership form. Mr. Ogden said that the February 5 kickoff date would come up quickly and that much work needed to be done for it to be a success. The availability of a working prototype system would help the public make sense of the project and also facilitate fund raising efforts. Mr. Ogden trusted that progress was being made by Mr. Glazier and Ms. Howard.
Another Community Network Coordinating meeting was scheduled for Friday, January 20, 1995 at 5:00 p.m. in the Ann Arbor Public Library. A tentative date was set for a presentation about the HVCN to the Board of the Friends of the Ann Arbor Public LibraryFebruary 13, 1995.
Mr. Stanger distributed the text of a slide show he developed with Mr. Glazier that was intended to introduce the former Huron Valley Fee-Net to the public. He asked those present to work on revising and updating the text.
Could a meeting of the Board of the HVCN be scheduled for Friday, December 16, 1994 at the Washtenaw County Annex building starting sometime between 5:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.? If not, could a meeting be scheduled for Tuesday, December 20, 1994 at the Washtenaw County Annex building starting at 5:30 p.m.? Responses should be forwarded to the Secretary, Mr. Stanger.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
